Soil Testing Cylinders KIMAX® cylinder used in measuring particle size distribution in soil suspensions by means of a hydrometer (ASTM D422 and AASHTO T88). While the 1205 mL size is not specified in this method, it is useful in certain special cases. The 1000 mL may also be used in pipet methods of mechanical analysis of soils.
